Learn to Ski Day for Kids & Teens with Special Needs
Description:
3rd Annual-Learn to Ski (Cross-Country) Day for Kids & Teens with Special Needs (Ages 2-18)
Saturday, March 23th: 12-3 pm at Skyview Highschool (by the hockey rink)
FREE!
- Please RSVP to Angela (260-4159) so we can try and get your boot size (especially ages 10-18, when boot size varies more)!
- Hot Cocoa and cookies will be served. There will be a warm-up hut for families and siblings.
- ALL Equipment will be provided *(skis, boots, etc.). Volunteers will be available to work 1:1 or in small groups with your children, helping them learn to ski. If your child is in a wheelchair, we can offer a sled ride (pulled behind a skier) or a sled ride pulled by a walker, as we do not have any adapted equipment for skiing at this time.
- A parent or caregiver must be on-site, but need not actively participate (they can be taking care of siblings or watching).
Event supporters: Angela Beplat &Nature's Way Rehab. Services, Diamond M Ranch Resort, D'Anna Gibson, Tsalteshi Trails Association, Central Peninsula Rehab. Dept., & Community Volunteers.
If you have any questions and/or to request your boot size, please call Angela Beplat at: 260-4159

*We cannot guarantee that we will have the size of boot and skis to accommodate your child, but we will have multiple pairs on hand and do our best!
