Snow? Where'd you go?

Summer Rules in effect

It hasn’t been much fun, but this Winter That Wasn’t is at least consistent — we still haven’t had enough snow to make skiing possible at Tsalteshi Trails. (Though we saw a few hardy skiers making the effort on some of our warmer days last week. Good on ya!)

Until or unless we get skiable snow, feel free to enjoy summer activities on the trails — running, hiking and biking, with dogs allowed if leashed or under voice control. But be sure to be studs about it. Most loops are extremely icy, and ice cleats are highly recommended. Even with extra traction, exercise caution going downhill, especially as freeze-thaw cycles continue.

Tsalteshi Trails Youth Ski and Tsalteshi Sports Academy skate ski lessons for adults both had to cancel their remaining sessions in January and February. Anyone who preregistered and paid online may request a prorated refund for sessions missed. —OR— you can donate all or a portion of your prepaid fees to Tsalteshi Trails Association. TTA’s budget is as depressed as all you skiers out there, with the lack of snow impacting the revenue we expected to raise through events and programs this winter.

But we’re not throwing in the towel on winter yet!

Fuzzy Predator

Postponed, but still possible!
If we get snow before the official change to Summer Rules on April 15 we’ll still unleash this beast.
Ideally, we’ll ski all of the fuzzy predator loops at Tsalteshi — Wolf, Fox, Bear, Wolverine, Lynx and Coyote. Or we’ll at least furociously ski whichever predatory loops we can groom into submission.

Keep an eye on our Facebook page for updates.

Lights out

With the switch to Daylight Saving Time on Sunday, the evening lights will be turned off on the trails to save electricity. Lucky for us, Mother Nature is providing more and more lighting this time of year.

Summer Rules officially start April 15
Missing the thrill of pin flags and finish lines lately? Don’t be a mourner, we’ve got events right abound the corner! Once we switch to Summer Rules, our slate of spring/summer events will begin, starting with a Choose Your Weapon race April 18! Stay tuned to the website andFacebook for more details.
