TSA Run Series
Want to do the Salmon Run Series but don’t know how to start? Tired of the treadmill and want to give trail running a try? Seeking a group atmosphere to kick boredom to the curb?Tsalteshi Sports Academy is back in action and ready to get you running! Join coach Kent Peterson for TSA’s Learn to Run program Wednesdays in June atTsalteshi Trails. Learn the FUNdamentals of trail running and get familiar with the trails.
- When: 6-7 p.m. Wednesdays in June — June 3, 10, 17, 24.
- Where: Meet behind Skyview Middle School, through the fence near the football field.

TSA Bike Series
Get on track for summer riding with our TsalteshiSports Academy Learn to Trail Ride series in June. This is a great way to try out trail riding, build your skills and get geared up forTsalteshi’s Cycle Series starting in July.

Summer Movie Mtn. Biking Kickoff
Celebrate summer with our biking season kickoff party! Toast summer with Kenai River Brewing Co. beer, find out about Tsalteshi’s upcoming events, sign up or renew your TTA membership, hang out with your fellow trail-goers, and watch “Reveal the Path” — “A genre-defying adventure film that contemplates what it means to live an inspired life using the bicycle as a mechanism to explore, dream and discover,” filmed in part on Alaska’s coastline!
- When: 7 p.m. Friday, June 19
- Where: Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center
- Cost: $10 for under 21, $10 for TTA members, $20 for nonmembers, or register or renew your TTA membership at the event and get in for free!

Tri-the-Kenai
Just tri to not be excited about Tri-the-Kenai, we dare ya! Registration is closed, but volunteers are still needed. Emailvolunteer@trithekenai.com to help. And then come watch the race! It is awesome in motion.
- When: Sunday, June 14. Youth event starts at 8 a.m., adults start at 10 a.m.

Mouth to Mouth Wild Run and Ride
10-mile run or bike (fat tires recommended) from the Kasilof River mouth to the Kenai River mouth. Prizes! (For fastest male and female runner and biker, youngest participant and silliest salmon costume.) Bonfire beach party with local food trucks! Registration includes a hand-dyed t-shirt by Drunken Forest Designs! And did we mention the beach?!?
Proceeds support Cook Inletkeeper’s work ensuring clean water and healthy salmon in the Cook Inlet watershed. Sponsored by Cook Inletkeeper, Tsalteshi Trails Association, Kenai Watershed Forum and Kenai Peninsula Trout Unlimited.
- When: Sunday, June 21. Registration at 1 p.m., race at 2 p.m., bonfire party from 3 to 6 p.m.
- Where: Start at Kasilof North Beach parking lot off Kasilof Beach Road, finish at Kenai South Beach parking lot off Cannery Loop Road. Shuttle back to Kasilof at 6 p.m.

Paint it Purple
Color us excited! Like running? Like color? Like supporting great causes? Come join us for Tsalteshi’s first color run! A collaboration with Central Peninsula Relay for Life, this 5k walk/run raises money for Relay, an organization dedicated to eradicating cancer. Registration includes a t-shirt, guaranteed to be turned purple by the finish line (nontoxic powdered paint). Shirt sizes limited, so register soon!
- When: Sunday, June 28. Registration at 1 p.m., race at 2 p.m.

Live United Fun RunTsalteshi is partnering with United Way for this color (nontoxic colored baking powder) 5k fun run to be held in Kenai.
- When: Saturday, July 4. Registration at 3 p.m. at the Civil Air Patrol parking lot. Race starts at 4:30 p.m.
- Where: Start at Main Street and 1st Street in Kenai, end at Civil Air Patrol.

Return of the Salmon (Run Series)The Salmon Run Series is back for season four! Each race is 5 kilometers and utilizes a variety of trails in the Tsalteshi system. It’s a great way to build your skills, test yourself from week to week and get to know the trails.
Youth Division: Before each 5k, there will be a 1k race for children 6 and under. Youth registration will be available for the individual races.
Proceeds are used to fund the Kenai Watershed Forum’s summer youth camps.

Rotary Unity Run
Join us for this signature summer race! The annual Rotary Unity Run 10-mile and 5-kilometer race is back, hosted by the Kenai River Rotary Club and TsalteshiTrails Association.
- When:
Bib pickup is 5 to 6 p.m. Friday, July 10, at Soldotna High School.
Race day registration and bib pickup are7:30 to 8:30 a.m.Saturday, July 11, at SoHi.
Buses leave at 9 a.m.July 11 from SoHi, taking 5k racers to Peninsula Powersports, and 10-mile racers to Kenai Central High School.
Both races start at9:30 a.m. July 11.
- Where: Meet at Soldotna High School for buses start lines — 5k at Peninsula Powersports, 10 mile at Kenai Central High School.

Bike trail expansionSingletrack development is back at Tsalteshi! Please be aware that the start of Mosquito Snowshoe/Singletrack Trail at the Wolverine Trailhead off K-Beach Road has been rerouted to begin behind the gate by the informational kiosk, so please begin your ride from there. More work to extend the Mosquito Trail is beginning now. Check in from time to time to see the progress. And thanks to our singletrack trail crew volunteers, especially Nic and Natalie Larson!
