Salmon Run Series

 The Salmon Run Series is back for season four! Each race is 5 kilometers and utilizes a variety of trails in the Tsalteshi system. It’s a great way to build your skills, test yourself from week to week and get to know the trails.

Youth Division: Before each 5k, there will be a 1k race for children 6 and under. Youth registration will be available for the individual races.
Proceeds are used to fund the Kenai Watershed Forum’s summer youth camps.

  • When: 6 p.m. Wednesdays, July 8-Aug. 5
  • Where: Tsalteshi Trails, Skyview Trailhead
  • Cost: Individual races are $10 for Tsalteshi members and $15 for nonmembers. Register for all five races for a discount — $45 for TTA members or $70 for nonmembers. (Not a member yet? BECOME ONE HERE.)

Kids Summer Running CampA companion program to the Salmon Run Series. Camps for ages 6 to 10 and 11 to 15, taught by star high school runners Allie Ostrander and Jordan Theisen. All levels of athletes welcome. Snacks provided. Runners must bring their own gear.

  • When: Ages 6-10 —10 to 11:30 a.m. July 9, 10, 11, 13, 15 and 15
  • When: Ages 11-15 — 10 to 11:30 p.m. July 16, 17, 18, 20, 21, 22.
  • Cost: $65

Salmon Cycle Series

Tsalteshi’s Thursday night mountain bike racing is back for season three! Get your skills up to scratch for PsychoCross on Sept. 5.

  • When: 6:15 p.m.Thursdays, July 9-Sept. 3. Registration at 5:30 p.m.
  • Where: Tsalteshi Trails, Skyview Trailhead, by the old hockey rink.
  • Cost: Races are free for Tsalteshi members and $5 for nonmembers. (Not a member yet? BECOME ONE HERE.)

Rotary Unity Run

Join us for this signature summer race! The annual Rotary Unity Run 10-mile and 5-kilometer race is back, hosted by the Kenai River Rotary Club and Tsalteshi Trails Association.

  • Bib pickup is 5 to 6 p.m. Friday, July 10, at Soldotna High School.
  • Race day registration and bib pickup are 7:30 to 8:30 a.m.Saturday, July 11, at SoHi.
  • Buses leave at 9 a.m. July 11 from SoHi, taking 5k racers to Peninsula Powersports, and 10-mile racers to Kenai Central High School.
  • Both races start at 9:30 a.m. July 11.
  • Where: Meet at Soldotna High School for buses start lines — 5k at Peninsula Powersports, 10 mile at Kenai Central High School.
  • Cost: $20 for individuals, $10 for youth and $50 for families. $5 discount for preregistration. $5 discount for TTA members. (Not a member yet? BECOME ONE HERE.)
