Trail report 12-15

Classic skied all of the trails today and the skiing was very good.  Tracks were set and in good shape.  Also got to classic the Squirrel for the first time with tracks so that was fun.  I used bright red Toko kicker which was really good.  After a while I skied thru to yesterday's extra blue which had good grip but ran slower.  They were setting up a high school race so the upper trail head could be a little busy till 5 pm or so.

Recap-Robert Johnson Memorial Ski Clinic

Todays ski clinic was a lot of fun for the brave souls who faced the blizzard to participate.  If you did not know Robert Johnson he worked at Beemun's for years helping so many of us get started in skiing.  Brent Knight and Zach Hall came down from Anchorage to lead the instruction for the event.  Both of these guys are amongst the nation's best skiers and grew up locally.  Besides being great skiers they are great guys who volunteered their time to give back to their community.  Beemun's provided free ski rentals with helpful staff and Kaladi Brother's provided hot drinks.  Brent and Zach also brought some free swag from their race sponsors (Atomic and Powerbar).  All proceeds went to TTA's Youth Ski Program. Groomer report 12-11

General, Tsalteshi Ski Trails, Uncategorized
All trails were smooshed down with the roller today. Things got pretty wet by 4PM so we had to leave it alone until it cools off. Be sure and throw off any limbs that are manageable. There is at least one tree down (on Bear). We will try and get over to Headquarters lake when things cool off a bit and we catch up at Tsalteshi.
