Help Tsalteshi brighten up winter with the Tsalteshi Tree Ski!
Decorate a tree by Jan. 5
Come to the Tree Ski from 6-8 p.m. Jan. 6
Undecorate your tree by the end of February
Businesses, organizations, teams, families, friends, groups of complete strangers who happen to like decorating — come one, come all! The Moose Loop has small, medium and large trees available, suitable for families with young kids up to the more ambitious. (But don’t risk hurting yourself and don’t damage the trees trying to get them decorated!)
We’re looking for volunteers to decorate trees on the Moose Loop (lighted loop behind Skyview Middle School). Decorations should be up by Jan. 5. Tsalteshi will hold a community Tree Ski from 6-8 p.m. Jan. 6. Come ski, snowshoe or walk the Moose Loop to view the trees and vote for your favorite while hanging out by a bonfire and enjoying a warm beverage. No cost to participate! Please help us get our festive on by sprucing up our spruce trees!
When decorating, think big and colorful! Large decorations are more visible than small. Silver and white decorations don’t show up in the snow. LED lights with battery packs would work great for the Jan. 6 Tree Ski event (be sure to go turn on your battery pack or add fresh batteries before the event.) Bring a pole with a hook to get decorations up higher. Signage for your business, organization, team, etc. is welcome so we know who to thank for the tree! Once you’ve selected and decorated a tree, email a picture and name(s) of the decorator(s) to info@tsalteshi.org so we know which tree is which.
The Moose Loop is in a ski-only portion of the trails. If you are unable to ski and want to decorate a tree, you can use snowshoes to access the Moose Loop from Skyview. No motorized access is available.
