Trail report 12-7-11
There is 3-4 inches of fresh snow on the trails. Bill and dan were out there packing it down this afternoon. Classic was slow but great. Special green kick wax.
Cold but workable…
Skate skiing over the last week on Wolverine has been more work, but still doable; not been unbearably slow. Unless it's my imagination, the surface has been regularly scratched up by the groomers. Many thanks to whoever takes care of Tsalteshi -- I've skiied all around the Peninsula over the holidays, and no one, but no one, takes care of their trails like they do here.
Annual Membership Meeting
Tsalteshi Trails Association will have its annual membership meeting on Wednesday, January 11 at 7pm at the Emergency Operations Center, 253 Wilson Lane, Soldotna. There will be a short presentation about our activities in the past year. We will also elect 3 new board members. If you are interested in serving on the board, contact us at tsalteshi@yahoo.com. Christmas Trail report
A little snow makes a BIG difference. Good skiing today, not so crunchy. I classic skied with Toko Blue then White kick wax. I think the Swix waxes would have been just as good of grip but with better glide. Break out the kick waxes!! Saw lots of other elves out skiing as well. Merry Christmas!
Trail Report 12-23
The boys were out again today and groomed most of the trails. They have really done a nice job on what used to be an ice rink; it is now fast, corn snow. Plus it's calling for snow on Christmas! Thanks Santa!
Wolverine on the 22nd…
Skate skied Woverine Thursday evening. I haven't been on those trails in a week or so -- but they seemed to be on fairly good condition. A little icy, but still enough broken up top layer to get a decent purchase. Groomed earlier today? Very, very, fast with violet wax.
12-20 trail report
Tried to get out there when it was still cool, Failed. Vacillating between snowy-rain and rainy-snow. On the plus side it is sticking to the base well. Hopefully it will cool and start snowy snowing.
Trail report 12-15
Classic skied all of the trails today and the skiing was very good. Tracks were set and in good shape. Also got to classic the Squirrel for the first time with tracks so that was fun. I used bright red Toko kicker which was really good. After a while I skied thru to yesterday's extra blue which had good grip but ran slower. They were setting up a high school race so the upper trail head could be a little busy till 5 pm or so.
12-14 Great Skiing
Classic skied most loops. The skiing is fantastic right now!! Tracks are set but were still soft so I stayed out of them. Tommorow should be great!! Extra blue kicker.
