Interested in biathlon, the exciting sport that combines the aerobic demands of cross-country skiing and the precision of rifle marksmanship? We will be opening the old range at the bottom of the Raven and Beaver loops for three Saturdays (March 2, 9 and 16) from 10 a.m. to noon for those who are currently members of US Biathlon and have attended a biathlon range safety clinic.  (See map for temporary trail closures during this time). Are you a she? Can you ski……………or snowshoe? Join us for the 9th Annual She Can Ski at Tsalteshi Trails located behind Skyview High School. The fun begins at 11:00 am on Sunday, February 3rd…..Super Bowl Sunday but, you will be home by kick off. Day of race individual registration will be at 10:00-10:30 am on race day but avoid the lines and register early online. This year we have a new team event: One snowshoe….one Classic skier…….and one skate skier. Registration for the team event is online only so go to www.tsalteshi.org and find the links at right to get more information about the race and to register online. As always we will have the individual event as well. Costumes are encouraged! So grab your skis or snowshoes and your friends…

Unfortunately, our trails experienced significant damage last night from truck and snowmachine use and generally inappropriate behavior.  Our trail volunteers are out cleaning up litter and attempting to repair the trail damage today.  If anyone has information regarding the responsible parties please let us know at tsalteshi@yahoo.com.

Besh Cup maps can be found under "race results" on the left side menu. These races are a big deal.  The race courses will be on race day until after the competition. Please come out and watch, participate or volunteer!  Volunteer sign up is available here.

It's that time of year again! Now's your chance to register for the ninth annual She Can Ski event at Tsalteshi Trails behind Skyview High School, a fundraiser for the Tsalteshi Trails Association and the LeeShore Center. See the registration links at right. New this year: Individual and Team events. Come out, enjoy the Trails, and be home in time for the Superbowl!

Tsalteshi Trails is there for the community with more than 11 miles of well-maintained trails, four miles of lighted loops for evening use, and easy access with two trail heads right in town. Our community can be there for the trails through the Pick. Click. Give. program. As Alaskans apply for their permanent fund dividend, they can choose to donate a portion of their PFD to Tsalteshi Trails Association. Tuesday, January 8 at 7:00 PM in the Skyview High School Library. We will describe the program, how your kids can get the most out of it and highlight any changes from last year.  Come a little early if you still need to pickup your rental skis.
